BEFORE YOU GET ANOTHER TATTOO

Think before you INK…….

by Johnny Jackson

Ok people its time to roll out another lecture about tattooing and try to help assist you in making the right choice when you get new ink.

Rule #1

Don’t wait until its 1 a.m. out at the bar all night to think about getting a tattoo.

Not only is it rash and based on the consumption of alcohol. There are tattoo artists that do your work they aren’t machines you just type in what you want and automatically spits out a new idea.

So that being said lets do some exploring as to what is proper and logical.

If you are itching for a tattoo and just settle for some fancy script lets open up our minds to be as original as possible with your tattoo.

Rule #2

Relationship based tattoos: Usually gotten to mark each other or one to remain loyal…

A lot of these are the finger tattoo on the wedding finger so the person cant take it off and hide they are married.

Also guys think it is bold and fashionable having fancy script tattooed right above your girlfriends private areas.

Correct interpretation; You or the one you are with can not be trusted as far as you can throw them and if they have a name on them it should be done because you truly love and wish to show that person through marking it on your body.

It will be so much more sentimental and original thought to think out a person and what they mean to you as example ,I see her as the apple of my eye…Well then you get an artist to express that in a work of art.

Rule #3

A NAME TATTOO IS not original and anyone can do it.

Some look better than most but its still a short call of love and affection to just scrawl their name across your arm or chest or wherever!

Another wrong thing to do is after you lose a loved one and you want to celebrate their life in memory BE CAREFUL as to what you choose in this time of grief and mourning because you will live with this and have to explain over and over .

for instance…you are sad and in grief over the death and loss and you may want angel wings or a tombstone with their names on it…

Well in 2 years you will still miss the person but How irritating will it be to go around for the next 20 years having to emotionally high-jack yourself ,explaining your friends death and yr pain and loss all refreshed over and over again.

OK so you ask where is this going?

It is just an educational effort to get you thinking outside the box and more on a long term basis.

If you insist go for the quick cheap name tat…BUT if you read these words that I am writing they are from experience and if your tattoo is for another person ,be it dead or alive,Try to think of something that reminds you of that person or celebrate the life of that person. Something that 5 years from now could go as a regular tattoo that has the secret message meaning to you and you don’t have to explain it over and over.

If you have to make your lover get your name ,that is a selfish thing to do. If you love fishing or playing pool get something that is related to that person, or if you are getting matching tattoos and cant think creatively enough think in terms of a bee and a flower or a key and a lock ,or a crown and a tiara, opposites but matching for couples.

DO NOT WRITE A NAME IN CURSIVE ACROSS YOUR WEDDING RING FINGER OR ANY FINGER AT THAT…

It will blur up and be unreadable after 4 to 5 years…

OK, that’s it for now. I only write this because TV doesn’t explain this stuff and I see so many people come into the studio day after day just wanting name tattoos. We don’t mind doing them but there are some guidelines that may help you or a friend out. Share this post for me Facebook friends as knowledge is golden.

Someone near you talking about getting a name tattoo?

If you go to a studio with a friend and they are wanting a name…..This is why you are their friend..Pass this on…

Thank you for your time..
